Wet Road Causes One-Car Accident Near Memphis

A Memphis man received moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident three miles west of Memphis June 21.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Nicholas Rhodes, 20, was eastbound on Highway 136 in a 1990 Buick when he crested a hill, hydroplaned and ran off the south side of the road where the car struck a group of trees. The car came to rest facing southwest in the south ditch.

Rhodes was taken by private vehicle to Scotland County Memorial Hospital. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The Patrol was assisted at the crash scene by the Scotland County Sheriff's Department and The Memphis Police Department.
