Man Life-Flighted To Quincy After Truck Hits Tractor

A Knox City man was life-flighted to Quincy, IL following a collision with a tractor on Route A at 7:50 a.m. June 27.

Scott Stewart, 40, sustained moderate injuries when the 1974 Chevrolet truck he was driving collided with a John Deere tractor being driven by Harvey Bass, 48, of Gorin.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Bass was crossing a narrow bridge on the tractor when Stewart was unable to get his truck stopped and then collided with the tractor.

Stewart was treated at the scene by the Clark County Ambulance squad before being taken by helicopter from the accident site directly to Blessing Hospital in Quincy IL.

Stewart was issued a summons for defective brakes and no valid license.

The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Clark County Sheriff's Department, the Clark County Rescue Squad and the Clark County Ambulance Service.

Both vehicles sustained total damage and were towed from the scene.
