Gorin Teen Escapes Serious Injury In One-Vehicle Crash

A Gorin teenager escaped serious injury in a one-car wreck on Highway 136 nine miles west of Kahoka at 7:30 a.m. July 24.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Eric L. Jones, 19, was eastbound in a 1988 Chevrolet Cavalier. The vehicle went off the south side of the roadway where it struck a concrete culvert, then skidded back on the road before going off the north side of the road and overturning. The vehicle came to rest on its top.

Jones was taken by private vehicle to Scotland County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Clark County Sheriff's Department.
