Bed Races Top List Of Events Planned For 2001 Antique Fair

You always hear about good, old-fashioned fun, well guests at the 2001 Scotland County Antique Fair are going to witness it first hand.

Event organizers have a wide variety of entertainment lined up for the four-day long event.

Thursday night, August 23rd will feature a live band on stage but there may be more "dancing" being done prior to the music. The Adult Peddle Tractor Pull will be held at 7:00 p.m. with a 50-percent pay back for the top five finishers.

The bed races will be held the following night as participants will be entering their homemade bed frame racing machines to battle for the title of fastest sleeping apparatus in Scotland County. At the same time, other players will be competing in the Back-Seat Driver contest as well as a tractor fast start - slow race.

There will be plenty of entertainment all day on Saturday including the parade and children's games and activities all afternoon. The Rotary Bingo tent will be open and visitors can take part in the cake walk, the road rally or watch the micro-mini tractor pull or the 4-H open dog show. Look for more information on the Antique Fair in next week's issue.
