Juvenile Faces Charges Following Conclusion Of Bomb Threat Investigation

The investigation into the October 2 bomb threat at the Scotland County R-I Schools has resulted in an arrest.

The Scotland County Sheriff's Department reported the investigation into the incident had concluded and that a juvenile had officially been detained following the receipt of evidence surveys from the Missouri State Highway Patrol crime laboratory. The individual has been turned over to the Scotland County Juvenile Office. The individual faces the class D felony of making a false bomb threat.

Both SCR-I school buildings were evacuated October 2 following the discovery of a written threat of bombs in the buildings. The note was located in the high school.

The Scotland County Sheriff's Department was assisted in the investigation by the Memphis Police Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Missouri Fire Marshall's office as well as the Scotland County Fire Department.
