Two Area Teens Arrested Following High-Speed Chase

Two northeast Missouri teens were taken into custody Monday, November 26th following a high-speed chase by the Scotland County Sheriff's Department.

Mahlon J. Kugler, 18, of Hurdland and Benjamin C. Tarpein, 19, of Kahoka, were arrested at 7:30 p.m. following a car pursuit in Scotland County that initiated as a traffic stop.

Kugler was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a valid license - second offense and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Both Kugler and Tarpein were charged with minor in possession of intoxicating liquors.

Both men were assigned December 18 court dates at 9:00 a.m.
