LUCILLE HALE (9/05/1906 - 7/13/2001)

Lucille Hale, daughter of James Edward and Lenna Ellen Harbison Ketchum, was born September 5, 1906, in Downing, MO. She passed away at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, MO on July 13, 2001, at the age of 94 years.

On December 6, 1922, she was united in marriage to Lewis Elmer Hale. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1985. To this union one son, Paul B., was born.

She is survived by her son, Paul Hale and wife, Mary Alice of Memphis, MO; Nine grand-children, Diane Lee and husband, Rollie of Barry, IL, Dennis Hale and wife, Dana of Charlotte, NC, Lannie Hale and wife, Barb of Des Moines, IA, L.H. Hale and wife, Vicki of Kansas City, MO, Paula Wendling and husband, Gary of Kahoka, MO, Tom Hale and wife, Vietta of Centralia, MO, Jan Adams and husband, Tim of Jacksonville, AR, Beth Ann Johnson and husband, Mike of Memphis, MO, and Nancy Kapfer and husband, Carl of Memphis, MO. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Lucille enjoyed crocheting pillowcases. She continued this hobby until her death and made many sets for family and friends.

She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Campground.

The family has suggested memorials be made to the Campground Cemetery.

Funeral services were held July 16, 2001 in the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis, MO, with Brother Larry Smith officiating. Pallbearers were Mike Johnson, Carl Kapfer, Tim Adams, Jeff Lee, Rollie Lee and Dani Adamson. Interment was in the Campground Cemetery in western Scotland County, MO.
