Jo Ann Harmon, 60, of Ashland, MO, passed away August 26, 2001 at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia, MO.

She was born October 24, 1940 in Kirksville, MO, a daughter to Hillis A. Wiegner and Anna Laura Shacklett Wiegner.

She was married to Michael D. Harmon on March 21, 1986 in Jefferson City, MO, and he survives.

Jo Ann was a graduate of Memphis High School in Memphis, MO, class of 1958. She graduated from Stephens College in 1960, and graduated from the University of Montana in 1963.

She was a chemistry unit chief with the Missouri Department of Health Lab in Jefferson City, MO for 35 years retiring in February of 2001.

She was voted Woman of the Year in 1985 with ABWA, and was a member of D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution). Jo Ann enjoyed camping, traveling and seeing Missouri State Parks.

Survivors include her husband, Michael D. Harmon of Ashland, MO; a sister, Linda K. Harris of Missoula, MT.

Preceding her in death, her parents and a sister, Peggy Lou Wiegner.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 30, 2001, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., prior to the memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home, 601 N. Henry Clay Blvd, Ashland, MO. Rev. Paul Larimore will officiate. There will be no burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Quality of Central Missouri c/o Gene Austin, 3900 Rollins St., Columbia, MO.
