Charles L. Nesmith, 75, of Memphis, MO, died September 2, 2001, in the Scotland County Memorial Hospital, Memphis, MO.

He was born on October 4, 1925 and spent his youth in southern Arkansas. He attended the Baptist Church and became a Baptist preacher at a young age. After World War II he lived in California and married. His wife preceded him in death.

Later in life he attended the Assembly of God Church. He was an avid Bible student and had a very good singing voice.

When he was injured in a work accident, he became a resident of the Aldridge Adult Care Center in Memphis, MO.

Graveside memorial services were held September 7, 2001 at the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO, with Pastor Eloise Marx officiating. Special music was provided by soloist D.J. Tague. Arrangements were handled by Gerth Funeral Service from their Memphis, MO chapel.
