Velma May Prebe, 92, of Memphis, MO, died October 18, 2001, at her home in Memphis, MO.

She was born May 10, 1909, in Knox County, MO to Peter Bernard and Mary Henritta Laubscher Klote.

She married Louie A. Prebe on December 25, 1931 in Edina, MO. He died January 3, 1976.

She was educated in the Knox County Schools, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Memphis, MO. She had also assisted with the Meals On Wheels program for 11 years.

She is survived by four daughters, Violet Eggleston of Kansas City, MO, Marjorie Stott and her husband, Leland of Memphis, MO, twin daughters, Marilyn Dunn and her husband, Keith of Bible Grove, MO and Evelyn Magruder and her husband, Don of St. Louis, MO; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Virginia Monroe and two brothers, Glenn and Lawrence Klote.

Services were held October 21, 2001 at the Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery. Casketbearers were Dirk and Trent Eggleston, Brant, Eric and Curt Dunn, Mark and Darrell Monroe, Barry and Kerby Stott and Kyle Magruder. A memorial has been established to Hospice or the donor's choice in her name. Memphis Funeral Home of Memphis, MO was in charge of arrangements.
