Benjamin Vernon Fitzgerald, 87, of Bloomington, IN, died November 29, 2001, at Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer, IN.

He was born April 26, 1914, the son of Benjamin A. and Millie O. Adams Fitzgerald at Green Valley, IL.

Benjamin married Rose Marie Prindable on January 13, 1945 in Pensacola, FL. She died December 12, 1986, in Bloomington, IN.

Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy G. Henry of Peoria, IL and Arlene L. Agre of Memphis, MO.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Benjamin was an Army Veteran of World War II.

He was employed at Crane Division of the Naval Surface Warefare Center in Crane, IN from 1941 to 1979, retiring in April of 1979.

He was affiliated with the Evangelical Community Church in Bloomington, IN.

Private graveside services were held at the American Mausoleum in Peoria, IL. Memorials may be sent to Bethany Baptist Church, Peoria, IL. Arrangements were by the Wilton Mortuary, Peoria, IL.
