CRYSTAL MAE GEORGE
(2/11/1915 - 12/12/2001)



Crystal Mae George, 86, of Memphis, MO, died December 12, 2001 in the Northeast Regional Medical Center at Kirksville, MO.

She was born February 11, 1915, in Connelsville, MO to Claude Orval and Golda Ethel Dooley Bacus.

She married George George and he preceded her in death in 1974.

She and her husband were in the grocery business for 30 years in California. Crystal moved to Memphis, MO in the early 1980's. She was a past Worthy High Priestess of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, San Leandro, CA. She was Past Worthy Matron in Lake Merrit Chapter O.E.S. and a member of the Daughters of the Nile of Oakland, CA. She was also active in OATS for a number of years in Memphis, MO. She was affiliated with the Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Bliefert of Novelty, MO; two step-daughters, Ilene DelRio of Livermore, CA and C. Toula Harner and husband, Jack of Oakland, CA; and a step-son, James George of Anaheim, CA. She is also survived by two sisters, Edna Dodge of Memphis, MO and Thelma Baldock of Unionville, MO; and one brother, Junior Bacus of Moline, IL; six grandchildren, Randall Bliefert and special friend, Teresa Ball of Memphis, MO, Ronald Bliefert of Ely, NV, Chris Bliefert of Novelty, MO; step-grandson, Steven Tate and wife; step-granddaughters, Cristy George and husband, and Pam George, all of California; 16 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was also preceded in death by an infant brother.

Funeral services were held December 15, 2001 with Rev. Robert Garringer officiating in the Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO. Ann Luther provided the music. Casketbearers were Randall, Ronald, Chris, Jason, Dusty and Troy Bliefert. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO. A memorial has been established to Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital. Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO was in charge of arrangements.
