Raiders Knock Off Lady Tigers 5-2 With Late Rally

The emotional high of a 2-1 lead quickly disappeared for the Lady Tigers as North Shelby scored four runs in its next at bat en route to a 5-2 win over Scotland County September 25.

SCR-I trailed 1-0 until the fourth inning when the Lady Tigers scored twice to take the lead. Sara Eggleston and Brandi Mallett had back-to-back hits to start the rally. A single by Brenna Cook loaded the bases. Both runs came in to score on fielder's choices by Valerie Crawford and Sara Norton.

The momentum was short- lived as the Raiders quickly regained the lead in the fifth inning with four runs. The Raiders sandwiched a pair of key errors by the SCR-I defense between three hits to supply the firepower for the rally.

Scotland County never really threatened in the final three at bats, with just a pair of base runners down the stretch.
