SCR-I Falls To Midgets 28-6 In JV Football Action

The Scotland County junior varsity football team had its hands full October 1 in Unionville when the Putnam County Midgets bested the Tigers 28-6.

Unionville scored in each of the four quarters to post the victory. The Tigers lone tally came in the third quarter when Tim Robinson returned the opening kickoff of the second half 75 yards for the touchdown. The two-point conversion attempt failed.

That gave SCR-I some hope after a first half shutout by the Putnam County defense. But the deficit quickly went from 14-6 to 22-6 when the Midgets scored midway through the third period.

Putnam County tacked on some insurance with a six-yard touchdown run in the fourth period to make the final score 28 to 6.
