Big First Period Not Enough In Tigers Premier

Things looked promising in the first quarter of the Scotland County Tigers season opener November 27 against South Shelby. SCR-I came out hitting on all cylinders paced by guard Chase Moore. The junior exploded for 10 points in the first period, including a pair of three pointers as the Tigers pulled ahead 22-13 at the end of the first period. SCR-I also got 10 points from post players Logan Bogatzke and Aaron Dale during the hot start.

But while everything went right in the first eight minutes of the contest, nothing much else did the remainder of the night as Scotland County only managed 28 points over the final three periods as the Cardinals rallied for the 75-50 victory.

Moore finished with 19 points to lead the Tigers. Dale had 12 points, including a pair of three pointers, while Bogatzke added 10 points. South Shelby held last season's leading scorer, Aarron Holt, to just five points.
