Four-Year-Old Airlifted Following Wreck Near Gorin

A Gorin teenager and his four- year-old cousin were seriously injured in a two-car accident on Route U eight miles southwest of Memphis at 4:12 p.m. December 24.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Davye Glasscock, 23, of Gorin was northbound on Route U in a 1995 Oldsmobile and was attempting a lefthand turn into a private driveway. Her vehicle crossed into the path of a 1982 Ford that was being driven southbound by Shawn Keller, 26, of Gorin.

Two passengers in the Glasscock vehicle, Dakota Glasscock, 19, the brother of the driver, and their four-year-old cousin, Tristen Shaw, of Columbia, suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Shaw was taken by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to University Medical Center in Columbia. Dakota and Davye Glasscock were taken by ambulance to SCMH.

Davye Glasscock suffered moderate injuries in the accident. She was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

Keller suffered minor injuries in the crash and was to seek his own medical treatment.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident and were towed from the scene.

The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff's Department, Scotland County Fire and Rescue and Scotland County Ambulance Service.
