Full Election Ballot Takes Shape For City As Filing Closes

Voters will have a full ballot to decide upon when the April 2 Memphis city election rolls around. All four offices on the ballot have at least two candidates that filed for the position by the January 15 closing.

City Marshall Terry Simerl will be seeking re-election. He is facing opposition from former police officers Steve Snodgrass and Rick Hunt.

The East Ward Alderman position also has three names to choose from. Incumbent Mike Stone will face off with William C. Reckenberg and former alderman Paul Luscombe.

Mayor Ron Alexander is seeking re-election. He is opposed by Robert "Dynamite" Owings.

In the West Ward, Alderman Cindy Garret did not file for re-election. Candidates for the position will be Teresa Skinner and Paula Montgomery.
