Deadline Set For SCR-I Principal Hiring Process

The Scotland County R-I School Board plans to have a new high school principal selected by April 9. The board voted 7-0 to approve a procedural timeline for the hiring of the new officer to replace Connie Courtney who has resigned from the position effective at the end of the school year.

The deadline for receipt of applications for the position is March 18 at 4:00 p.m. in the office of the superintendent. Screening of the candidates by a board will be March 22 at 4:00 p.m. in a special executive session of the SCR-I board of education.

The official interview process will be conducted by a committee consisting of members of the board of education, represent-atives from the community as well as members of the school staff. Interviews are scheduled from March 25 - April 4. The tentative selection date has been given as the week of April 4, with April 9 set as the deadline to have a new principal selected.
