Tanya Crevier To Give Basketball Dribbling Display

Many basketball players can't dribble and talk at the same time. That's not a problem for motivational speaker Tanya Crevier. She can spread her words without a problem while she handles not one, not two, but 10 basketballs at one time.

Crevier, a former Women's Professional Basketball league player, will be in Memphis April 9 at the Scotland County R-I High School gymnasium beginning at 7:00 p.m. She will present the same show that has been done at halftime of numerous NBA games and has even taken Tanya overseas.

"When it comes to handling basketballs, Tanya is one of the best that I've ever seen," said Michael Jordan, no slouch himself when it comes to hoops.

Crevier was the 1976 Female Athlete of the Year in South Dakota before going onto South Dakota State University where she played basketball.

After ending her professional basketball career in 1981 she began work as a motivational speaker. The job has placed her basketball show in front of groups as small as five or 10 people to as large as 2,500 at school assemblies and college shows all the way up to tens of thousands of spectators at national sporting events.

The event is free to the public. It is sponsored by the Northeast Missouri Health Council and Dr. Michael Duzan.
