Residential Bulk Spring Cleanup To Start April 16

While it is debatable whether Spring is here as far as the weather is concerned, it is officially here as far as the calendar goes and that means it is Spring cleaning time.

The residential bulk spring cleanup for Memphis has been scheduled for two weeks in April. Collection days will be Tuesday April 16 and April 23, as well as Friday April 19 and April 26 on the normal trash pick-up schedule.

For the first time this year appliances will be accepted as part of the process. However this will be limited as no items containing freon gas, such as refrigerators or freezers, can be accepted.

Other restrictions are applied to yard waste and brush; oils, paints, chemicals or other liquids; batteries, tires or other automotive parts; or construction, roofing or demolition materials. No loose items will be accepted. All small items must be placed in bags or boxes.

Place all items on the curbside on your normal collection dates during these two weeks. Remember all items must be able to be safely lifted by two individuals. For more information contact Waste Management at 660-328-6391.
