Traffic Stop Nabs Milton Man On Marijuana Charge

A traffic stop by the Scotland County Sheriff's Department landed a Milton, IA, man in trouble on drug charges.

Michael J. Thompson, 22, was ticketed for operating a motor vehicle on the highway without a valid license. A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up drug paraphernalia and what was believed to be marijuana.

Thompson was taken to Scotland County Jail where he was charged with possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to use.

He was released on $200 cash bond and was assigned an April 23 court date.
