Glenwood Couple Injured In Crash East Of Downing

Two Glenwood residents were injured in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 136, three miles east of Downing, at 9:31 p.m. April 7.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Karen Homer, 66, was westbound on the highway in a 1994 Chevrolet van when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway. It struck a field entrance and became airborne. The van overturned several times before coming to rest on its side.

Karen Homer and a passenger in the vehicle, 70-year-old Phillip Homer, both suffered moderate injuries in the crash. They were taken by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Memorial Hospital.

The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff's Department and the ambulance service.
