Woman Injured In Crash At Rutledge MoDOT Facility

A Memphis woman sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident in front of the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) shed on Route M one-half mile west of Rutledge at 8:00 a.m. July 3.

Beulah M. Martin, 17, was hurt when the car she was driving struck a 1998 Dodge truck owned by MoDOT. Martin was eastbound on Route M in a 1992 Mercury when the truck, driven by Theodore J. Smith, 45, of Philadelphia, attempted to make a left turn and pulled into her vehicle's path.

Martin was taken by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries resulting from the crash.

Smith was uninjured in the crash.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff's Department, MoDOT and the Scotland County Ambulance Service.
