Three Downing Residents Hurt In Collision

Three Downing residents were injured in a two-car accident on a county road north of Downing at 9:09 p.m. July 23.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jayne T. Dalton, 26, was driving a 1993 Ford westbound on County Road 130. Her vehicle was across the center line when it crested a hill and struck a 2001 Dodge Pickup nearly head on. The truck was being driven eastbound by Robert Dalton, 25. (The drivers are not related).

Both drivers as well as a passenger in the Jayne Dalton vehicle, 19-year-old Jeff Scott, suffered minor injuries. They were taken by Schuyler County and Scotland County ambulances to Scotland County Memorial Hospital.

The patrol was assisted at the scene by the Schuyler County Sheriff's Department. The patrol reported arrests are pending.
