MoDOT Closes Route MM To Install Surface

The Missouri Department of Transportation closed Highway MM, Miller Bottom Road from August 6 through August 12 for resurfacing.

Memphis Maintenance Super-visor Lonnie Triplett said the road will be closed 2 miles south of Route 136 to Route M and anticipates the work will be completed during the time frame, weather permitting.

Last year MoDOT and Scotland County exchanged roads to connect two state routes, Route MM south of Memphis, to Route M. Scotland County received Route Y in exchange for the new Route MM. The agreement called for the county to bring the new Route MM up to MoDOT standards, which they did. The gravel road has been settling for about a year to make it more stable for the asphalt overlay. A ceremony was held in May 2001 to recognize the collaborative effort between the county and MoDOT.

MoDOT expressed its appreciation to motorist for their patience and understanding during the construction and road closure. For more information or answers to questions regarding the project contact MoDOT customer service toll free at 1-888-ASK MODOT (275-6636).
