Rutledge 'Mayor' Janet O'Rourke Passes Away

Rutledge "Mayor" Janet O'Rourke passed away at her home October 10 following a bout with cancer. O'Rourke, 51, was a long-time member of the Village of Rutledge Board of Trustees. She was currently serving as chairperson for the village's governing board.

The Board of Trustees will meet Monday, October 28 at which time the members will appoint a representative to fill O'Rourke's seat on the board until the April election. The board will also vote to fill the chairperson vacancy.

Current members of the board are Gary See, Steve Montgomery, Hillis McCabe, Luke Zimmerman and David Herr.
