Rodeo Coming To Bible Grove October 19-20

Cowboys from across the tri-state region will be converging in Scotland County for the Bible Grove Rodeo October 19-20. The two-day event will feature saddle bronc riding, team roping, bareback riding, barrel racing, bull riding and calf roping with $100 minimum added money per event.

The rodeo starts at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19 and opens at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. The kids event will get an early start both days. There will be a goat dressing contest for kids six and under. The seven to 12 year old group will do goat dressing on horseback. There will be a calf scramble for kids 12 and under as well as mutton busting. The greased pig contest will be divided into 12 and under and 13 and over age categories. Kids events start at 6:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. Sunday.

The Saturday night rodeo will also feature a queen contest as well as a live music concert by Lon Erwin and the Harvest Band.

The Rodeo is sponsored by Bible Grove's Bar-B-Saddle Club and the D Bar D Rodeo Co. of Elsberry.

The kitchen will be open during the events and there will be a beer garden on the grounds.
