MINOR C. ROASA
(8/24/1907 - 12/22/2001)



Minor C. Roasa, 94, of Memphis, MO, died December 22, 2001, at the Scotland County Care Center, Memphis, MO.

Minor was born August 24, 1907, in Scotland County, MO, the son of Albert and Laura (Thurber) Roasa.

He attended school in Granger, MO, and graduated in May 1925.

He married Leta M. Waddill on May 8, 1928, in Edina, MO, and to this union three children were born.

During the course of their life Minor and Leta moved from Granger to Memphis, MO and then to Bethany, MO. In 1955 they moved to Kansas City, where Minor worked for the city water dept. He retired from there in 1972. After some traveling Minor and Leta settled at Pine-to-Palm Retirement Park in Weslaco, TX. Minor returned to Missouri after Leta's death.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leta in 1995; his parents; a sister, Gladys Barr; and four brothers, Carl, Hollis, Hubert and Floyd.

Surviving are his son, Luther Roasa and wife, Lila of Gower, MO; and two daughters, Willa Prather and husband, Harold L. of Memphis, MO, and Janis Pettigrew of Knob Noster, MO; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren also survive.

The family has suggested memorials to the Granger Cemetery.

Funeral services were held December 26, 2001, at the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis, MO, with Bro. David Barton officiating. Body bearers were Jerry Hanway, Danny Bell, Mitch Prather, Mark Triplett, Scott Triplett, and Kenneth Pettigrew. Interment was in the Granger Cemetery, Granger, MO.
