MARYNELLE SCOTT
(4/27/1910 - 2/15/2002)



Marynelle Scott, 91, of Sedalia, MO, died February 15, 2002, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia, MO.

She was born April 27, 1910, at Memphis, MO, the daughter of James Clarence Woodsmall, Sr. and Rachel Ellen Hammons Woodsmall.

Marynelle was married to Virgil K. Scott on October 24, 1931, in Memphis, MO. He died January 14, 1974.

She was a graduate of Memphis, MO High School in 1928. She attended Missouri Valley College, Marshall, MO and Northeast Missouri State Teachers College, Kirksville, MO. She taught school in Memphis, MO and Columbia, MO.

In 1940, she and her husband moved to Long Beach, CA. She taught in the Anaheim and Long Beach Public Schools for 40 years, retiring in 1980. She returned to Sedalia, MO in 1981 to live with her brother. She was a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church, Sedalia, MO, P.E.O. Chapter C in Memphis, MO and P.E.O. Chapter GK in Columbia, MO. She was also a member of Daughters of American Revolution.

Survivors include, a brother, James C. Woodsmall, Jr. of Sedalia, MO; two nephews, Richard A. Woodsmall of Omaha, NE, and James W. Woodsmall of Jefferson City, MO.

There was no funeral. The body was donated to the University of Missouri Anatomical Board. Arrangements were by McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO.
