GLADYS BERNIECE FEHR
(12/18/1915 - 2/10/2002)



Gladys Berniece Fehr, 86, of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away February 10, 2002, at Ft. Madison Community Hospital, Ft. Madi-son, IA.

She was born December 18, 1915, the daughter of Walter E. and Nora Petska Dowell, in Macon County, MO.

Gladys married Leland Fehr on June 1, 1946 in Ft. Madison, IA.

She worked as a clerical worker at the Sheaffer Pen Company for 20 years.

She was a Ft. Madison High School graduate, attended SCC, and also attended Mesa Community College in Mesa, AZ. She was a member of the Santa Fe United Methodist Church and held many offices. She was Past Matron of Eastern Star, Past High Priestess of White Shrine, Past President of the Federated Women's Club and ran bus trips for the Scholarship fund, member of AARP, Passport Club, Double Ten Circle of Kings Daughters, Senior Citizens. She and her husband were clowns and magicians after retirement in 1981. They spent winters in Arizona and entertained at Resort Park, nursing homes, hospitals, and youth organizations.

Graveside services were held February 12, 2002 at the Soldiers' Circle in Oakland Cemetery. Rev. John Simpson officiated. Memorials have been suggested to PAW animal shelter or the Ft. Madison Public Libraries. King-Lynk Funeral Home, Inc. of Ft. Madison, IA was in charge of arrangements.
