RUTH ARLENE EGGERS

Ruth Arlene Eggers, 72, of Memphis, MO, died May 13, 2002, in the Scotland County Memorial Hospital, Memphis, MO.

She was born June 21, 1929, in Mt. Sterling, IA, to Leonard and Norma Eichelberger Stockdale.

She was a graduate of Bushnell High School in Bushnell, IL, class of 1946.

She married George A. Eggers, February 15, 1947, in Bushnell, IL.

She owned and operated Scotland County Abstract and Title Inc. in Memphis, MO.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Memphis, MO.

She is survived by her husband, George of Memphis, MO; two sons, Gary Dean and his wife, Kathryn of Hutchinson, KS, and Gregory A. and his wife, Leslie Rae of Memphis, MO; nine grandchildren, Bryan Scott, Valerie Ruth, Danny Lee, Uriah Ray, Georgie Russell, Ruth Evalee, Shannon, Shawna and Jacob; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Naomi Wilson of Macomb, IL, Velva Freburg of Memphis, MO, and Irma Lee Bennett of Moline, IL; sister-in-law, Dixie Stockdale of Monmouth, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Earl Dean Stockdale.

Visitation will be open after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at the First Baptist Church, Memphis, MO, with the family present to receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established to the First Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Memphis, MO with the Rev. Robert Garringer officiating. Music will be provided by Faye Humphrey and Arleta Dye. Vocalists will be Schelle Cooley, Lori and Joe Fulk. Burial will be in Lawn Ridge Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jacob Eggers, Bryan Eggers, Doug Freburg, Floyd Tague, Roy Clark, and Leroy Bibby. Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO, is in charge of arrangements.
