WANETTA MARIE MATHES
(8/7/1926 - 5/26/2002)



Wanetta Marie Mathes, 75, of Wyaconda, MO died May 26, 2002, at her home in Wyaconda, MO.

She was born August 7, 1926 in Gorin, MO, a daughter of Edward and Grace Garmen Hatfield.

She married Raymond Mathes on July 20, 1947, in Gorin, MO. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1979.

Wanetta had lived in the Gorin and Wyaconda, MO area all of her life. She was a member of the Wyaconda Christian Church and the W.M.U. of the Church. She enjoyed following sports that the kids were involved in and was an avid Wyaconda Sports Booster. She also enjoyed getting together with her buds and playing cards. She was a loving mother and grandmother and treasured the time she spent with her family and friends.

Survivors include three sons, Danny Mathes and his wife, Denise of Kahoka, MO, Steve Mathes of Hampton, VA, and Bobby Mathes of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren, Danessa and Dennis Mathes; three sisters, Almeta Mathes of Hannibal, MO, Rita Derkson of Sutter, IL, Izetta Nahra of Bakersfield, CA; five brothers, Lameul Hatfield and his wife, Marjorie of Springfield, MO, Leo Hatfield and his wife, Sarah of Kansas City, MO, Elmer Hatfield and his wife, Wilma Dee of Edina, MO, Melvin Hatfield and his wife, Kim of Kahoka, and Stanley and his wife, Bonnie of Arbela, MO; one sister-in-law, Laverne Hatfield of Wyaconda, MO; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Mason and Ross Hatfield; and two siblings, Erma and Elmo in infancy.

Funeral services were held May 29, 2002, at the Wyaconda Christian Church in Wyaconda, MO with Pastor Shawn McAfee and Reverend Ernest Deatrick officiating. Burial was in the Wyaconda Cemetery. Memorials were made to the Wyaconda Christian Church. Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO was in charge of arrangements.
