Pamela Jeanne Nelson, daughter of Peter and Irene Findlay Nelson, was born November 16, 1956 in Sigourney, IA, and departed this life June 23, 2002, at University Hospital, Iowa City, IA, at the age of 45. She suffered a stroke after surgery for a brain tumor.

Pam graduated from Fox Valley High School in 1975, was employed 20 years at National Garment Co., Memphis, MO, and currently worked at Barker Co., LTD., Keosauqua, IA. She enjoyed reading, raising flowers and spending time with family and rode horses for pleasure.

Survivors include her mother of Milton, IA; her father of Knox City, MO; two brothers, Steven Nelson of Knox City, MO and Peter Nelson, Jr. and his special friend, Bernise Wallace of New London, IA; four sisters, Victoria Hughes and her husband, Danny and Laura Nelson and her special friend, James Lunsford, all of Cantril, IA, Malinda Nelson of Pulaski, IA and Karla Nelson of Keosauqua, IA; three nieces; two nephews; other relatives and friends.

Her grandparents preceded her in death.

Open visitation will be Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, IA, with family present 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. in Cantril Christian Church, Cantril, IA, with Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton, IA. Memorials have been suggested to the family.
