CLYDEAN CLOUGH
(1/3/1916 - 7/10/2002)



Frances Clydean Clough, 86, formerly of Kahoka, MO, died July 10, 2002 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant, IA.

She was born January 3, 1916, in Goltry, OK, a daughter of William Paul and Lucy Mae Black Hartman.

On September 8, 1935, she was united in marriage to George Harold "Dean" Clough at Shelbina, MO. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1971.

Survivors include one son, Harold D. Clough and his wife, Dorothy of Liberty, MO; three daughters, Jean F. Barry and her husband, Robert of Minden, NV, Connie S. Whelan and her husband, Fred of Douglas, AZ, and Anna M. Saner and her husband, Dean of Mt. Pleasant, IA; six grandchildren, Leigh Anne and Kurt Kaifes of Chicago, IL, Tom and Joan Clough of Fairway, KS, Patricia and Ron Parham of Leguna Beach, CA, Jacque and Greg Boone of Douglas, AZ, Heather and Jim Haverly of Douglas, AZ, and Heidi and Arte Rivas of Sierra Vista, AZ; eight great-grandchildren, Meghan, Anne and Caroline Kaifes, Jake and Liza Clough, Hannah Boone, and William and Chloe Haverly, as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Chester and Cecil Hartman; a sister, Margaret Todhunter; and a great-grandson in infancy.

Clydean graduated from Wyaconda High School, Wyaconda, MO in 1934 and served as a postal clerk in Wyaconda, for 20 years, retiring in 1976. She had also been assistant church organist at the Wyaconda Christian Church for many years. She moved to Kahoka, MO in 1973 and transferred her membership to the Kahoka Christian Church, where she remained active as long as her health permitted. She had been honored by Kahoka Chapter #40, O.E.S. for 50 years of membership in the Eastern Star and had been active in several bridge clubs in the Kahoka area. Clydean enjoyed listening to music and was an accomplished musician. She also loved spending time with her family and sewing.

Funeral services were held July 13, 2002, at the Kahoka Christian Church with Rev. Dick Clifford officiating. Joan Ball was organist and Mathew Eder was soloist. Pallbearers were Tom Clough, Kurt Kaifes, Bill Morgan, Dean Saner, Robert Hartman, and Gary Hartman. Burial was in Wyaconda Cemetery, Wyaconda, MO. Memorials were suggested to the Kahoka Christian Church. Arrangements were handled by Wilson Funeral Home, Kahoka, MO.
