Thomas Campbell Cottey, 39, of Downing, MO, died August 11, 2002, in a motor vehicle accident.

Tom was born in Columbia, MO, on June 21, 1963.

He was married to Lisa Martin and to this marriage three children were born, Tyson Cottey and twin daughters, Andrea and Elizabeth Cottey.

Tom had worked for the Galloway Lumber Company for some time, but was disabled as a result of a vehicle accident.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Frank Cottey and Eugene Junior and Ruth Shepherd.

He is survived by his parents, Tamara and Tom Gore of Lonedell, MO and James and Clara Cottey of Lancaster, MO; his grandmother, Elizabeth Cottey of Lancaster, MO; his son, Tyson Cottey and daughters, Andrea and Elizabeth Cottey, all of Milton, IA; a sister, Theresa Anderson of Apollo Beach, FL; a brother, Kurt Cottey of Allen, TX; two aunts, Rosemary Weldon of Lancaster, MO, and Patricia Cottey of Baring, MO and Mexico; three uncles, Ronnie Shepherd and his wife, Helen of Fisher, IL, Doug Shepherd of Lancaster, MO, and Dr. John Cottey and his wife, Donna of Dallas, TX; a half-brother, Clayton Gore of St. Louis, MO; several cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held August 13, 2002, at the Christian Church in Lancaster, MO. Rob Green, pastor of the church officiated. Special music was by Beth Gravett, soloist, and Maureen Watkins, organist. Interment was in the Bee Ridge Cemetery, east of Edina, MO. Pallbearers were his brother and sister, Kurt Cottey and Theresa Anderson, Bill Cottey, George Bohnert, Clayton Gore and Doug Shepherd. Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO was in charge of arrangements.
