Gerald "Max" Cotton, 81, of Clackamas, OR, passed away August 15, 2002, following a brief illness.

He was born June 28, 1921, in Scotland County, MO, the son of Charles Glen and Lucille Tennant Cotton.

Max graduated from Granger High School in 1939.

He moved to Portland, OR, in 1946 and was later a machinist for Freightliner.

In 1981 he married Irene Bjorn.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Irene in 2000; his parents; and a brother, Charles Wayne Cotton, who was killed in World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry W. and Jim Cotton; two daughters, Sandi Jean Cranmer and Debbie Gray; three step-children; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Rex Cotton; cousins, John Tennant, Lawanda Hardman-York and husband, Don, and Norma Cotton.

Funeral services were held August 20, 2002, at Mt. Scott Funeral Home, Portland, OR. Inurnment was at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Portland, OR.
