NORALEE ORTON McINTOSH
(7/12/1935 - 9/18/2002)

NoraLee Orton McIntosh, 67, of Arbela, MO, formerly of Green City, MO, died September 18, 2002, in Arbela, MO.

She was born the daughter of Harry Clement and Irma Faye (Peck) Mathes on July 12, 1935, near Downing, MO.

NoraLee graduated from the Downing High School in 1953 and went to work at the Grim-Smith Hospital in Kirksville, MO.

On May 6, 1956, she married Edson "Leroy" Orton. To this union three daughters were born.

During the course of her life, NoraLee was engaged in farming and was employed at the Schaeffer Pen Company, Sheller Globe, the Memphis Garment Co., Hollisters, the Florsheim Shoe Factory, before retiring from Con-Agra Foods on February 14, 2002.

NoraLee joined the First Christian Church in Memphis, MO in 1982.

She was a very gifted woman. Some of her hobbies included quilting, sewing, rug looming, upholstery, knitting, crocheting, and gardening. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Darlene Lepper, Rosemary Mathes, and Martha O'Connor; a son-in-law, Howard Hobart; one brother-in-law, Wayne Hamilton; a sister-in-law, Betty Mathes; three nephews and a niece.

She is survived by her daughters, Penny and husband, Dewayne Holt of Arbela, Vickie Wilson and friend, Rick Holmes of Casper, WY, and Julie Hobart and friend, Edward Burkhart of Green City, MO; one sister, Rosella Hamilton of Kimberling City, MO; four brothers, Leonard and wife, Ilene Mathes of Moriarity, NM, George and wife, Barbara Mathes of Mansfield, MO, Harry and wife, Lenore Mathes of Ortonville, MN, and Mounty Mathes of Arbela, MO; a brother-in-law, Juddy Lepper of Scotland County, MO; six grand-children, Dustin and wife, Tacey Monroe of Arbela, MO, Devin and Aarron Holt of Arbela, MO, Weston Martin of Kansas City, MO, Derin Holt of Des Moines, IA, and Nora Wilson of Casper, WY; three great-grandsons, Brandon and Brett Monroe of Arbela, MO and Aaron Wilson of Casper, WY; new special friend, Ken Freeman of Kimberling City, MO; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services were held September 21, 2002, at the First Christian Church in Memphis, MO, with Pastor Jack Sumption officiating. Music was provided by pianist Ann Luther and soloist Schelle Cooley. Serving as pallbearers were Nora Christina Wilson, Aarron L. Holt, Dustin L. Monroe, Devin L. Holt, Weston L. Martin, and Derin L. Holt. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Brett and Brandon Monroe and Aaron Wilson. Interment was in the Memphis Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the A.L.S. Association or Hospice 2000. The Gerth Funeral Service handled the arrangements from their Memphis Chapel.
