Nellie Ellen Woods, 86, formerly of Scotland County, MO, died October 4, 2002, at the Careage Hills Care Center in Cherokee, IA.

She was born January 13, 1916, in Scotland County, MO to Horace and Rose Bissell Rockwell.

She married Robert Randolph Woods, December 25, 1936, in Memphis, MO. He died August 26, 1974.

She was a member of the Campground Presbyterian Church and affiliated with the Memorial Presbyterian Church of Cherokee, IA.

She is survived by two sons, Robert M. and his wife, Rosalyn of Elsberry, MO, and Edwin L. Woods and his wife, Norma of Tyndall, SD; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Colt Allan Woods; two brothers, Benjamin and William Rockwell and two half-brothers, Victor and Eastman Patton.

Funeral services were held October 7, 2002, at the Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO with the Rev. Charles Hammack officiating. Organist was Ann Luther and vocalist was LaMayra Brown. Casket bearers were John Dodge, Leonard Purvis, Richard, Tim, Steven and David Woods and Dana Woltman. Burial was in the Campground Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospice. Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO, was in charge of arrangements.
