JANET KAY (RINEY) O'ROURKE
(4/10/1951 - 10/10/2002)



Janet Kay (Riney) O'Rourke, 51, of Rutledge, MO, died at her home, under the care of Hospice 2000, on October 10, 2002. She was born the daughter of Lloyd E. and Aleatha I. (Forrester) Riney on April 10, 1951, in Kirksville, MO. Janet graduated from Scotland County R-I High School with the class of 1969. She then attended Gem City College in Quincy, IL. At the time of her passing, Janet was employed by Great River Management in LaBelle, MO. She was a member of the Rutledge Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a long-time member of the Rutledge Town Council and was serving as the Mayor of Rutledge. Janet was also active in the Rutledge Crackerjacks 4-H Club for many years. She was preceded in death by her father and one infant sister. She is survived by her son, Shawn "Norm" O'Rourke of Columbia, MO; her mother, Aleatha Riney of Memphis, MO; three sisters, Rosalie Donahue of Hume, MO, Opal Blaine of Rutledge, MO, and Ruth Ann Carnes of Jefferson City, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services were held October 12, 2002, in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO with the Reverend Steve Jarvis officiating. Memorials have been suggested to Hospice 2000. Arrangements were handled by Gerth Funeral Service from their Memphis, MO chapel.
