Vironda B. Selby, 81, of Moberly, MO, died October 19, 2002, at Moberly Regional Medical Center, Moberly, MO.

Vironda was born October 10, 1921, near Ottumwa, IA, the daughter of Gussie and Cecil Brookhart Selby. Vironda was one of 14 children. She spent her childhood in Granger, MO, where she attended and graduated from Granger schools.

In 1938 she moved to Moberly, MO, where she worked as a waitress for more than 45 years. After retirement she went to work for a deli at the former Briggs and Dailey Store.

Surviving are one sister and brother-in-law, Wyoma and J.A. Kraus of Pueblo, CO; one brother, Cletus Selby of Bushnell, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Hillis, Hollis, Carman, and Norman; five sisters, Delaphine Jansen, Carmileta Matheney, Valera McPherson, Creva Malone, Donna Hyde, and two in infancy.

The family has suggested memorials to Alzheimer's Association or the donor's choice.

The body was cremated and there will be no visitation.

Graveside services and burial will be held Saturday, October 26, 2002, at 12:45 p.m. at the Black Oak Cemetery, north of Granger, MO, with Rev. Mike Wilson, officiating. Local arrangements are being handled by the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO.
