LOUIS E. BERROYER
(10/4/1922 - 11/7/2002)



Louis Edward Berroyer, 80, of Downing, MO, passed away November 7, 2002, in the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.

The son of Louis A. and Ada Virgie (Payne) Berroyer, he was born on October 4, 1922, in Pana IL.

He was a graduate of Pana High School, class of 1941. From 1942 until 1945, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1965, he worked as a service officer for the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs for eight years. Louis attended the United Methodist Church of Edinburg and was a member of the Edinburg Masonic Lodge #647.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Beverly Jane Sellers, who died July 13, 1968; wife, Velma Blair, who died April 5, 1989; and two sisters, Sylvia Kettelkamp and Florence Nelson.

He is survived by a step-daughter, Carol Ann Cook of LaPlata, MO; step-granddaughter, Ashley Louis Cook of Columbia, MO; a brother, Paul "Bud" Berroyer of Pana, IL; two nieces, Judy Holthaus and Jean Crosby of Pana, IL; and two nephews, Dennis E. Kettelkamp of Missouri and James Berroyer of Arkansas.

Funeral services were held November 9, 2002, in the McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana, IL with Reverend James Brown officiating. Masonic services were provided by the Pana Lodge #226 A.F. and A.M. Interment was in the Linwood Cemetery, Pana, IL. Local arrangements were handled by Gerth Funeral Service from their Memphis, MO chapel.
