FRANCES PAULINE JARVIS
(4/21/1901 - 11/10/2002)



Frances Pauline Jarvis, 101 years, six months and 19 days old, passed away on November 10, 2002, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO.

The daughter of Silvester A. and Alpha (Dooley) Dabney, she was born near Bloomfield, IA, on April 21, 1901.

She was married to Aubrey Guy Jarvis on May 9, 1918. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1975.

Frances and her husband farmed north of Downing, MO, for most of their married life. Frances has made her home in the Senior Housing in Downing, MO, until just about two weeks ago when she moved to the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Comstock; four sisters, Olga Martin, Ott York, Oma McCullough, Ruth VanHorn and a brother, Otis Dabney.

She is survived by two daughters, Imogene Wineinger and Dorene Comstock, both of Downing, MO; one son, James Jarvis and wife, Kathleen of Augusta, IL; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jarvis was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. She was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and never missed a game on her radio or television.

Funeral services were held November 12, 2002, at the Norman Funeral Home in Downing, MO, Larry Smith, pastor of the Downing Christian Church officiated. Music was provided by organist Willa Gooden. Pallbearers were Jerry Scurlock, Don Scurlock, Charles Comstock, DeWayne Mullinix, Robert Stice and Daron Mullinix. Burial was in the Downing City Cemetery in Downing, MO. Memorials have been established for the Downing Appreciation Days Association. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Norman Funeral Home in Downing and Lancaster, MO.
