ANNA MAE (BASKETT)DUNTON

Anna Mae (Baskett) Dunton, 80, of Pine, AZ, formerly of Wyaconda, MO, passed away November 4, 2002, in Payson, AZ.

The daughter of George V. and Marie (Crumly) Baskett, Sr., she was born on December 6, 1921, in Wyaconda, MO.

She was a graduate of Wyaconda High School and of Stephens College, Columbia, MO, with a degree in education.

Anna Mae taught briefly in Missouri and Iowa, then moved with her husband and daughter to Phoenix, AZ, where she taught for over 30 years in the Washington School District. She was primarily an English teacher and was active with her students in theatre and speech. For the last two years Anna Mae had lived in Pine, AZ, with her daughter. She offered love and compassion to all and will be dearly missed.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her brother, G.V. Baskett, Jr. on August 3, 1990.

Survivors include her daughter, Lori A. Dunton-Chandler of Pine, AZ; and cousins, Fritz Gerth of Memphis, MO, Cathy Schweppe of Burke,VA, Margaret Lisy of Nokomis, FL, George Gerth of Branson, MO, and Gretchen Arnaiz of Tucson, AZ.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2002, at the Chandler Residence in Pine, AZ. Memorials in the memory of Anna Mae may be made to the charity or organization of the donor's choice.
