ZULA ALDRIDGE
1/27/1916 - 12/6/2002



Zula Aldridge, age 86, formerly of New Sharon, IA, died of a heart attack December 6, 2002, at the Pleasant Park Estates in Oskaloosa, IA.

Zula was born on January 27, 1916 in Downing, MO, the daughter of Lloyd and Edna Hays Byrn.

She attended school at Downing, MO and later taught there at the Possum Hollow High Energy School.

On September 5, 1934, Zula was united in marriage to Francis M. Aldridge in Downing, MO.

A homemaker for most of her life, she had spent a short time caring for the elderly. She was a member of the New Sharon Assembly of God Church, the Prairie Homes Club and enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, flowers, cooking and gardening.

Her memory is honored by her five sons, Leland Aldridge and wife, Frances of Oskaloosa, Merle Aldridge and wife, Olga of Knoxville, IA, Boyd Aldridge and wife, JoAnn of Little Rock, AR, Larry Aldridge and wife, Lois of Kellogg, IA, and Charles Aldridge of New Sharon, IA; her three daughters, Donalee Wallerich and husband, Jack of Wentzville, MO, Connie Johnson and husband, Tom of Bussey and Becky Langstraat and husband, Tim of Oskaloosa, IA; her 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; three nieces and her brother-in-law, Donald Douthitt of Tempe, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1985; a daughter, Elsie Baumert-Chapman; a grandson, Jeffrey Baumert; a great-grandchild, Buddy See (at birth); a sister, Ruth Douthitt; two sons-in-law, Paul Baumert, Sr. and Roger Chapman; and her step-father, Fred Peterson.

Funeral services were held December 10, 2002, at the New Sharon Assembly of God Church, New Sharon, IA, with Reverends Harold Schutte and James Finn officiating. Interment was at Friends Cemetery in New Sharon, IA. Memorials may be made to the New Sharon or Oskaloosa Assembly of God Church. Harden Funeral Home, New Sharon, IA was in charge of arrangements.
