John Lloyd Durnal, 82, formerly of Memphis, MO, passed away December 1, 2002, at the Phelps County Medical Center at Rolla, MO.

He was born August 25, 1920 in Scotland County, MO to Grover Cleve and Vallie Lancaster Durnal.

He was a graduate of Memphis High School. He served in the U.S. Armed Services from 1942 - 1946. He farmed north of Memphis, MO. He enjoyed traveling and spent some later years in Texas and Arizona.

He is survived by a brother, Dwight Durnal and wife, Janet of Mesa, AZ; a sister, Roberta Winkleman and husband, Eldon of Quincy, IL; a sister-in-law, Florence Durnal of Jefferson City, MO; four nephews and several great-nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Gail Durnal.

Graveside services were held December 3, 2002, at Richland Cemetery with Reverend Carol Blackwell presiding. Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, was in charge of arrangements.
