NELLIE LUCILLE PARRISH
11/17/1911 - 12/15/2002



Nellie Lucille Parrish, 90, of Baring, MO, passed away December 15, 2002, at the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina, MO.

Born December 17, 1911, northwest of Knox City, MO, she was a daughter of Leo and Katherine (Sallee) Galbrecht.

On January 5, 1933, in Edina, MO, she was united in marriage to Donivan Glenn Parrish. He preceded her in death September 7, 1974.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Leslie Parrish in 1959; and one granddaughter, Twila Suzanne Parrish.

Surviving are three sons, Howard Wayne Parrish and wife, Janet of Baring, MO, Eldon Leone Parrish and wife, Gretchen of Baring, MO, and Jerry Don Parrish and wife, Barbara of Kirksville, MO; two daughters, Patricia Jean Martin and husband, Wayne of Memphis, MO and Mary Kay Scott and husband, Harry of Lancaster, CA; one sister-in-law, Mary Martin and husband, Forrest; and one brother-in-law, Noble Parrish and wife, Mabel; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and three nephews.

Mrs. Parrish was a life-long resident of Knox County, MO. She attended the White Oak Rural School in Knox County. She and her husband were engaged in farming northwest of Knox City. She was employed at the Dry Cleaners and the Bon Air Motel, both in Edina for a number of years.

Mrs. Parrish was of the non-denominational faith and accepted Christ at an early age and attended Sunday morning services as long as her health permitted. Nellie enjoyed her garden, birds, cats and spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2002, after 4:00 p.m., with family receiving friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2002, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO, with Randy Satterfield officiating. Music will be provided by Sandra Browning, soloist, and Carol Hayes, organist. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, northeast of Edina, MO. Casket bearers will be Justin Parrish, Caley Parrish, Eric Van Sickle, Curtis Mallett, Robert Cummings, and Mark Mallett. An expression of sympathy in memory of Nellie L. Parrish may be made to the Knox County Nursing Home.
