Commission Reveals 2002 Spring Turkey Hunting Season Dates

The Missouri Conservation Commission met December 14 in Jefferson City. Among the numerous items of business during the governing body's regular monthly business was the establishment of the spring turkey season dates for 2002.

The 2002 spring turkey season will once again run three weeks (21) days. This year the season will open on April 22 and run through May 12.

Other regulations remain unchanged with a hunter being limited to two male turkeys or turkeys with a visible beard as a season limit. Only one turkey may be taken during the season's first seven days (April 22- April 28) and only one turkey may be taken per day from April 29 through May 12 until the two-bird limit is reached.
