SCR-I Freshmen Boys Split Games With Knox County

The Scotland County freshmen boys basketball team exacted a little revenge for an earlier loss with a 40-31 win over Knox County on January 15. The Tigers had dropped a 40-36 decision to the Eagles on January 7.

A balanced scoring attack led to the win as three Tigers reached double digits. Greg Neagle and Jared Shelley each had four points in a crucial 15-5 rally in the fourth period that brought SCR-I from behind for the victory.

Carl Wittstock topped Scotland County with 11 points while Shelley and Neagle each finished with 10.

The tides were turned in the earlier contest when Knox County outscored SCR-I 15-6 in the fourth quarter to rally for the 40-36 win.

Neagle was saddled with foul trouble most of the game so Andy Graham picked up the slack in the post with 12 points. Shelley led the Tigers with 13 points and Wittstock finished with eight.
