Stott Signs To Play Football At Central Methodist College

Scotland County R-I senior Kirk Stott has signed a national letter of intent to play collegiate football at Central Methodist College in Fayette beginning in the 2002 season.

Stott was a three-year starter for the Tigers on both offense and defense playing receiver and defensive back. As a senior he led the team with 34 receptions for 452 yards and three touchdowns. His top performance led to his unanimous selection to the Tri-Rivers Conference First Team All-Conference at Receiver. He also was named to the First Team All-District squad.

Stott also earned honors on defense where he made three interceptions during the 2001 season and was among the team's leading tacklers. Stott was an honorable mention all-conference defensive back.

It marked the second all-star season for Stott. During his junior year he was an honorable mention all-conference performer at wide receiver and a second team performer at defensive back.

Stott was also selected to represent Scotland County in the annual Missouri Lions Club All-Star Football Game. However he will not be able to participate due to a knee injury he suffered during the Tigers basketball season.

While at SCR-I Stott was active in the football and basketball programs as well as participating in FFA, band, chorus and jazz band. He is the son of Clifton and Rita Stott of Memphis.
