Brookfield Beats Tigers In League Quiz Bowl Game

A late rally brought the Scotland County Campus Bowl team within 25 points but the team could not get over the hump as the Tigers dropped to 1-1 in the Tri-Rivers Conference with a 250-205 loss to Brookfield March 5.

SCR-I never led in the contest after falling behind 30-0 to start the contest. The Tigers stayed within striking distance for most of the first half until Brookfield turned a 75-65 lead into a much more comfortable 160-80 halftime advantage.

Brookfield maintained a lead of no less than 50 points through the remainder of the game until the Tigers made one last charge with just four questions to play. But as soon as the team got within 25 points Brookfield responded to seal the 250-205 win.

Ryan Hinds led Scotland County with 80 points. Michael Lodewegen finished with 40 points and John Grogan had 20 points.

The junior high match went to Scotland County by the score of 285-235. Lance Smith paced the offense with 100 points. Julie Triplett added 50 points and Loren Billington and Jon Keller each had 10 points.
